UAMS Opens Neighborhood Clinic Near State Capitol

2 min read

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has opened a new UAMS Neighborhood Clinic at Capitol Mall in Little Rock, offering both scheduled and walk-in primary care services.

The clinic, in the Victory Building at 1401 W. Capitol Ave., offers primary care for patients of all ages and provides the same level of service and access to health professionals as every UAMS primary care location, Dr. Charles W. Smith, director of Primary Care Services at UAMS, said in a statement.

The clinic will be led by Dr. Jennifer Dukes Casey, who most recently practiced family medicine at the UAMS clinic in west Little Rock. She graduated from UAMS with her medical degree in 2007 and completed her residency at UAMS South Central in Pine Bluff, serving as chief resident from 2009-10.

“I’m excited about relocating to the Capitol district,” Casey said. “Our presence will allow for more access to health care for those working and residing in the area. My goal is to continue to provide superior health care to my patients as we work to improve the health of Arkansans.”

Patient care will include treatment for mild to severe illnesses, annual exams and preventive care and management of ongoing medical conditions.

“This clinic is going to concentrate on providing services to the people who are downtown near the Capitol Mall area, in particular the state employees,” Smith said. “We want to encourage them to utilize our services for walk-in care or primary care. We will be working hard to make sure we serve those who work or who may live downtown.”

The UAMS Neighborhood Clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. To make an appointment, call (501) 686-8000 or visit UAMSHealth.com/CapitolMall.
