UAMS Professor to Receive Award from the Radiation Research Society (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Antiño Allen will receive the Michael Fry Award from the Radiation Research Society. The award recognizes an individual early in their career who has made significant contributions in radiation research. Allen is an associate professor in the UAMS Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy.


Ryan Fitzgerald (Baptist Health)

Dr. Ryan Fitzgerald has been appointed as a board member for Baptist Health Foundation of Little Rock. He is employed with Radiology Consultants of Little Rock.


Julia Fuster (Washington Regional)

Julia Fuster has been hired at Washington Regional Farmington Family Clinic of Fayetteville. Before accepting this position, Fuster served patients at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, High Point Family Medicine of High Point, North Carolina.


Nora Gibbons (Washington Regional)

Dr. Norah Gibbons has been hired at Washington Regional Eureka Springs Family Clinic. She has served in multiple health centers, including La Familia Medical Center and Christus St. Vincent Family Medicine Center of Santa Fe, New Mexico.


Cami Alexander (Black River Technical College)

Cami Alexander has been named administrative assistant for the Office of Academic Affairs at Black River Technical College of Pocahontas. She previously was a human resources assistant at the college.


Travis Marsico (Arkansas State University)

Travis Marsico has been named interim vice provost for research and technology transfer and executive director of the Arkansas Biosciences Institute at Arkansas State University of Jonesboro. He has been with the university since 2010, serving as a professor of botany.


Joseph Otundo (UALR)

Joseph Otundo, assistant professor of health education and promotion at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has been selected for the 2023 Summer Faculty Fellowship Program through the Jewish National Fund-USA Boruchin Center. Along with the selected fellows, Otundo will travel through Israel to develop research projects and collaborations and establish faculty-student exchange programs.


Amit Tiwari

Amit Tiwari has been appointed associate dean of research and graduate studies at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy in Little Rock. He was previously a professor of pharmacology and experimental therapeutics and head of the cancer systems and therapeutics program at the University of Toledo in Ohio.
