UAPB Searches for New Chancellor

1 min read

Another new leader will soon be joining the University of Arkansas’ branch at Pine Bluff, but the recruitment drive is still on.

The latest news from UAPB was a forum, held last week and open to everyone, allowing participants to posit what sorts of characteristics the new chancellor should have.

New UA System President Donald Bobbitt was present at the forum, according to a UAPB release.

Currently, Calvin Johnson is serving as UAPB’s interim chancellor. Bobbitt named Davis to this position in April after longtime Chancellor Lawrence Davis Jr. announced he would retire in May. Johnson has stated he is not a candidate for the permanent position.

Davis was the subject of some controversy at UAPB after four staff members were fired and $700,000 of university funds were found to have been misappropriated.
