UCA Names Dean of Liberal Arts College

The University of Central Arkansas has named Tom Williams, Ph.D., dean of the College of Liberal Arts, effective July 2.

Williams will report to UCA’s executive vice president and provost, Patricia Poulter, who also begins in July.

He is currently associate dean of the School of English, Communication, Media & Languages at Morehead State University in Kentucky. Before that role, Williams served Morehead State as chair of the department of English. He was also an associate professor and chairman of the humanities department at the University of Houston-Victoria, an associate and assistant professor of English at Arkansas State University and an assistant professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Ashland University in Ohio, a master’s degree in English from Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in creative writing and literature from the University of Houston.
