UCA to Host Independent TED Event

TEDxUniversityOfCentralArkansas will hold its fourth TEDx UCA Salon themed “Reinventing Liberal Arts Education” at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at UCA Downtown, the new UCA venue located in downtown Conway at 1105 Oak St. 

Peter Mehl, associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts, will host the event.

“Reinventing Liberal Arts Education” will explore reform in higher education. Discussion will center on why college students should partake in a cross-disciplinary education, which combines all areas of study to address current issues. The salon will entail one prerecorded TED talk followed by discussion.

This is the fourth in a series of five salons leading up to the inaugural TEDxUniversityOfCentralArkansas conference called, “Ideas Whose Time Have Come,” on March 4 in the Ida Waldran Auditorium on UCA campus.
