A proposed apartment complex in south Fayetteville is looking more likely after a $1.9 million sale.

On its website, University Lofts in Jonesboro says its Fayetteville complex, University Lofts at the Sanctuary, will have a 2025 opening. The complex will have 152 units in a four-story building on West 15th Street, just down the road from Baum Stadium, the University of Arkansas’ baseball venue.

University Lofts has two complexes in Jonesboro and one in Russellville; complexes in Conway and Memphis are scheduled to open in 2024 and in 2025.

Chase Henrichs of Development Consultants of Fayetteville said the ownership group is just waiting to finalize the approval needed to begin construction. The city of Fayetteville has been working with the group and, while there is no set timeline, there aren’t expected to be any hiccups.

“We feel pretty comfortable and confident this project is going to continue to move forward,” Henrichs said. The site will be a 3-acre lot that was part of a 17-acre tract owned by a partnership led by Andy Davis and Eric Greer, Fayetteville developers who sold the 3-acre tract involved. Davis said the city passed an ordinance that prevented the partnership from building its Sanctuary at SoFay mixed-use development planned on the site.

They still plan to build on the remaining 14 or so acres they own, Davis said.
