We have news about a $3.5 million mixed-use development by Mike Orndorff planned for Little Rock’s Pettaway neighborhood.
The 20,050-SF project at 401 E. 21st St. would feature nine apartments, two restaurants and five retail spaces.
Your Whispers staff caught Orndorff, the developer behind Pettaway Square and owner of Mike Orndorff Construction LLC of Little Rock, while he was touring Ireland, specifically as his bus stopped in Castlegregory in southwest Ireland.
The new development is directly across the street from Pettaway Coffee, which Orndorff and his wife, Alex, sold to Jennifer Hill Green and Ashanti Parker in November.
Orndorff hopes to break ground 30 to 60 days after the city approves the project, assuming it gives the go-ahead. He expects it to be completed a year after groundbreaking. The Bryant office of Merchants & Farmers Bank of Dumas has approved financing for the development, Orndorff said.
The nine one-bedroom apartments would each be about 800-900 SF, he said.
James Meyer of Taggart Architects of North Little Rock is the architect for the project.
