VCC, Born from the Demise of Pickens-Bond, Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary

VCC still bears the initial of its former chairman and leader, Gus Vratsinas, who established the company in 1987 with his fellow Pickens-Bond alumni Sam Alley and Ed DeMoss.

Known as Vratsinas Construction Co. originally, the general contracting firm celebrated its 25th anniversary in March.

Vratinas left VCC in 2010 after selling his stake in the company two years earlier. He had turned the CEO duties over to Sam Alley in 2004.

Alley owns VCC. His brother Essa is president of VCC, and brother Haitham is general manager of an affiliate, Diversified Materials & Handling.

A recent sampling of the company’s Arkansas roster of work includes retail projects, such as Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers and Promenade at Chenal in west Little Rock; office buildings, including the Arkansas FBI headquarters and Pavilion Centre in Little Rock; higher education, including the Donaghey Aquatic Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Student Village at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia; and medical, such as Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock and Conway Regional Medical Center.
