The Venture Center of Little Rock announced that it’s expanding its fintech team as part of an effort to increase support for entrepreneurs in the industry.
Hamza Qadir was promoted to managing director of fintech programs, Pierce Sloan was promoted to senior program manager for fintech programs and Camille Santrach was hired as program manager for fintech programs.
The expansion comes after the inaugural VenCent Fintech Summit last month, which attracted hundreds of banking and technology professionals from around the world to Little Rock.
“A welcome spotlight is on Little Rock to continue as a desirable hub for fintech, and this strategic move to focus more of our time and resources on fintech programs and grow our industry reach makes sense as we keep an eye on what’s ahead for Arkansas,” Wayne Miller, executive director of The Venture Center, said in a news release. “Hamza, Pierce and Camille are highly capable and passionate about equipping the entrepreneurs with whom we work.”
The Venture Center’s current fintech programming includes the FIS Accelerator program, which provides mentorship for fintech
entrepreneurs from experts in the field, and the Independent Community Bankers of America ThinkTech Accelerator, the only community bank-focused fintech accelerator in the world.
The accelerators programs launched in 2016.
