Verizon Revamps App, Wireless Plan

2 min read

Verizon Wireless recently announced the revamp of its My Verizon app and Verizon plan, which gives customers complete control of their wireless plans. The new product allows Verizon customers to choose the amount of data they would like, make choices through the mobile app and change their plan size and options as often as they like.

Verizon’s move to remodel comes as a direct result of the continuous rise in data usage. In 2015 customers used over 9.65 trillion megabytes of data, a dramatic rise from the 4.06 trillion MB used in 2014. In response to this trend, researchers are predicting that the average data use per user will rise from 5 gigabytes per month to 22 GB per month by 2021.

The Verizon Plan offers many different options, made available through the My Verizon app, including:

  • The feed: an overview of all data, account and bill information, with personalized products and information.
  • The data hub: a control center showing how much data is being used, who is using it and how to get more if needed.
  • Shop: a virtual store, giving customers the opportunity to browse, buy and customize the latest Verizon products wherever they are.
  • On-demand support: in-app customer service that provides immediate answers without calling for help.
  • Simplified bill: a clear and simple bill that shows month-to-month changes and allows customers to pay with just a few taps.

In addition, the company has increased the size of its data plans by more than 30 percent, allowing customers to enjoy more of what they want at a greater value.
