Video: Dyne Hospitality Focuses on Help, Wellness to Retain Workers

1 min read

The pandemic has made employee recruitment and retention more challenging for Dyne Hospitality Group of Little Rock, but Co-CEO Glen Johnson says executives are putting new strategies in place to improve those efforts.

Johnson tells Arkansas Business the pandemic has made it more difficult logistically to screen applicants and conduct interviews. There are also more applicants for every job, adding another degree of difficulty.

That’s prompted the company to hire a recruiter to winnow applicants, leaving managers to conduct two interviews for an opening position rather than 12.

Dyne has also created the “Pyneapple Fund,” a pool of money funded by the company and other employees to help workers surprised by a financial hit or other emergency. And in January, Dyne launched “Dyne Well,” a program that offers customized wellness plans for employees.

Johnson spoke to Arkansas Business on Nov. 12, 2020, at the Arkansas Business Best Places to Work Awards, which honors companies whose workplaces go above and beyond in offering employee benefits, professional development programs and other perks. Dyne Hospitality is the largest Tropical Smoothie Café franchisee in the U.S.
