Dr. Joe Thompson, CEO of the Arkansas Center of Health Improvement in Little Rock, said Friday that employers are important actors in the effort to staunch the spread of COVID-19.
Thompson talked to Arkansas Business about how employers should respond to the novel coronavirus, which is spreading across the country. On Thursday, Arkansas announced five new “presumptive” cases of the virus, bringing the total to six suspected cases that await confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
Employers and COVID-19
In addition to talking about what employers can do, Thompson, a former Arkansas surgeon general, discussed how Arkansas is responding to the virus and shared basic information about the virus, how it spreads and how it is different from other viruses.
