Ducks Unlimited said Wednesday that it has elected Vince Callahan of Proctor to be an at-large member of the nonprofit conservation organization’s national board of directors.
“Vince has a long history as an active DU volunteer and impressive leader,” DU President John Newman said. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team, and we’re proud to have him on board.”
Callahan owns Ace Rewinding in West Memphis, Ark. He has been a Ducks Unlimited volunteer since 1990 and has served in volunteer leadership positions at the state and local levels.
“I feel that the key to any successful organization is to establish benchmarks and cultivate new areas for growth,” Callahan said. “As a DU board member, I will seek to lead and assist volunteers throughout the country in supporting the conservation of our wetlands and other wildlife habitat.”
Ducks Unlimited workers to conserve North America’s waterfowl habitats. The organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors and senior officers.
Other Arkansans in DU leadership posts include George Dunklin Jr. of Stuttgart, first vice president of the group’s national leadership board, and Steve Cook of Malvern, a regional vice president.
