Visit Bentonville has hired Alison Nation as vice president of communications and marketing.
Nation joins the tourism and promotion bureau from the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, where he had worked since 2008. As Crystal Bridge’s marketing director, Nation helped oversee brand building, promotion, email marketing and project management in the museum’s first decade.
She also helped oversee marketing for the 2020 opening of The Momentary, Crystal Bridges’ 63,000-SF art and performance space downtown.
“Her extensive experience in marketing and communications with Crystal Bridges, combined with her love of Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas, make her the perfect fit for this important role,” Kalene Griffith, president and CEO of Visit Bentonville, said in a news release. “We look forward to working with her as we continue to promote tourism to our city and spread the word about all the great things to see and do in Bentonville.”
Nation, a native of Oklahoma City, moved to northwest Arkansas in 2004. She holds a master’s in fine arts from the University of Arkansas bachelor’s in fine arts from the University of Oklahoma.
