Visit Bentonville this week announced the first-ever Arkansas Bike Summit that will be held June 21-22 at Record, 104 SW A St.

The summit will feature speakers from around the country that have experience in cycling infrastructure, development, programming and events.

“I am excited that leaders in Arkansas and surrounding states will have the opportunity to continue to learn more about cycling initiatives that have taken off in other regions of the United States,” CEO Kalene Griffith said in a news release. “The objective of the Arkansas Bike Summit is to take the cycling buy-in our region already has and build upon that by learning from the best in the cycling industry.”

Speakers include RABGRAI Director T.J. Juskiewicz; Aaron Hautala, founder of Red House Creative; Russ Roca, co-owner of Path Less Pedaled; Brendan Quirk, cycling program director of the Runway Group; Hansi Johnson, director of recreational lands at Minnesota Lands Institute; and Gary Vernon, program officer for the Walton Family Foundation.

Registration is $100 and includes dinner on Thursday and lunch on Friday. Participants will also have the opportunity to see the premiere of “North of Nightfall” at Skylight Cinema. The documentary, produced by Red Bull, follows a group of mountain bikers to the Artic Circle.
