Otto Jech, executive vice president of George’s Inc. of Springdale, has died at 86, the company announced Tuesday.
Jech began his poultry career in his father’s chicken coop building business and in 1951 began working for George’s taking care of a chicken farm for the founder. He was named executive vice president of the company in 1980.
Jech continued to oversee and assist with operations and expansion of the company and held the position until his death.
“Otto’s knowledge and his valuable insights throughout the years were vital to the growth of our company,” Gary George, chairman of George’s Inc. said in a news release. “He was involved in all aspects of our operations and his talent and guidance will be greatly missed.”
According to Carl George, co-CEO of George’s, Jech was “instrumental” to the company’s success.
“Otto was a man of integrity and he was highly respected,” Carl George said. “We will miss his leadership and friendship greatly.”
