
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville and its Walmart Foundation will host a “Day of Giving” at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Little Rock to award Walmart Foundation Arkansas State Giving grants totaling $1.12 million to 11 nonprofits.
The receipients are:
- Arkansas Food Bank, $75,000;
- Our House, $50,000;
- River City Ministry of Pulaski County, $36,000;
- White River Area Agency on Aging, $46,000;
- The Society of Saint Andrew, $25,000;
- White River Health System, $25,000;
- Arkansas Community Foundation, $75,000;
- Community Empowerment Council, $30,000;
- Museum of Discovery, $25,000;
- Positive Atmosphere Reaches Kids, or P.A.R.K., $25,000; and
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas, $30,000.
Michael Lindsey, the retailer’s public affairs director, is expected to attend the event at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 8801 Baseline Road.
