Walton Grant to Support UCA’s Economic Development Training Program

1 min read

The University of Central Arkansas has received a $456,637 grant from the Walton Family Foundation to help create a program that will provide economic development training to community leaders in northwest Arkansas.

Along with training, the Community Development Pipeline program will provide technical assistance to community leaders in Washington and Benton counties. The vision of the program is to “positively impact and uplift the economies and quality of life of communities” whose leaders participate, UCA said in a news release.

The three-year grant, which was awarded to UCA’s Center for Community and Economic Development, is the first of its kind between the nonprofit and the university.
