1 min read

Lumber and building materials supplier Whit Davis Lumber Plus of Jacksonville has agreed to an acquisition by Spahn & Rose Lumber Co. of Dubuque, Iowa.

The deal is expected to close on June 20, the companies announced in a press release Wednesday. The Jacksonville, Cabot and Greenbrier locations of Whit Davis Lumber Plus will reopen June 23. They will still operate under the Whit Davis name and will retain local management.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Jacksonville-based lumber supplier was founded in 1953.

Whit Davis Lumber Plus will join a list of five other lumber and building materials suppliers that Spahn & Rose has purchased in the past several years. Currently, it operates 28 locations across Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Georgia and Alabama.

The purchase of Whit Davis will expand Spahn & Rose’s presence in the Southeast.

In addition to lumber, Spahn & Rose sells windows, doors, decking, cabinetry, roofing, drywall and other building materials.
