Wine & Cheese Mixes Well With Apple for Max McCalman

One of the country’s best-known cheese experts, former Arkansan Max McCalman, tells Whispers he has a cheese and wine pairing app now available free on iTunes.

After graduating from Hendrix College in Conway, McCalman worked for Little Rock’s fabled Restaurant Jacques & Suzanne, using this time to learn about wine, among other things.

He went on to a career in the restaurant industry in New York. McCalman is the author of two books on cheese, “The Cheese Plate” and “Cheese: A Connoisseur’s Guide to the World’s Best,” which won a James Beard Award.
