Winrock Chosen for Racial Equity Initiative

North Little Rock-based Winrock International announced that it has been selected to participate in a nonprofit initiative to advance racial equity.

In a news release, Winrock said it will spend the next six months working with global nonprofit The Bridgespan Group to “strengthen our approach to advancing racial equity both internally and in our external work.” The project, called Advancing Racial Equity Community of Practice, is funded by the Walmart Foundation.

Winrock is among nine organizations participating. The others are:

  • American Red Cross
  • Center for the Future of Arizona
  • Education Design Lab
  • Goodwill Industries International
  • National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster T
  • Team Rubicon
  • The National FFA Organization
  • The Recycling Partnership
  • World Wildlife Fund

The organizations will collaborate to “share best practices and learnings on our work to prioritize equity.”

“Putting racial equity at the center of both our operations and program delivery is a crucial component of our mission and strategy,” Rodney Ferguson, president and CEO of Winrock, said in the release. “Thanks to the Walmart Foundation, Bridgespan, and our fellow nonprofit leaders for making this journey so impactful and exciting.”
