1 min read

The Paragould Wound Healing Center opened its doors in March, giving medical patients in the area more options for specialized wound treatment.

The center is a department of Jonesboro’s St. Bernards Medical Center in collaboration with Paragould’s Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. It is located at One Medical Drive, Suite 201, in Paragould.

Staffed by Drs. Dwight Williams, Lance Monroe and Alberto Fonticiella, the center treats chronic and traumatic wounds that have not healed after 30 days of traditional treatments, including diabetic ulcers, lower leg ulcers, infections, pressure ulcers, gangrene, radiation burns, failing grafts and flaps and surgical wounds.

In addition, Marty Algee of Jonesboro has been named  wound management director at the center.

Algee has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He worked for the pharmaceutical company Novartis for more than 10 years and has experience in medical marketing and management.

The Paragould Wound Healing Center is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Fri., and appointments can be made by calling (870) 240-8163.
