Zweig Group, an architectural and engineering consulting firm based in Fayetteville, said Friday that it facilitated WGI’s acquisition of Carl Walker Inc.
Jamie Claire Kiser, the Zweig Group’s director of consulting, represented the seller in the deal that closed on Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
WGI is a design, planning, and surveying firm based in West Palm Beach, Florida. This is its third acquisition in three years, and buying Carl Walker Inc. gives the firm a 12th business line, nearly 400 associates, and a new footprint in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina and Texas.
WGI now has 13 offices in six states and a national portfolio.
Carl Walker Inc. of Kalamazoo, Michigan, specializes in the creative planning and design of sustainable parking structures and uses rapidly changing automation technology, according to a news release.
Gary Cudney, president and CEO of Carl Walker, as well as the firm’s principals, executives and associates, will continue in their current roles. The firm’s branded name will continue and be integrated with WGI, operating as Carl Walker, a division of WGI.
Other recent deals Zweig was involved in include NV5 Global Inc.’s acquisition of Orlando-based Lochrane Engineering Inc.; Eppstein Uhen Architects’ acquisition of Burkettdesign; and Wold Architects and Engineers’ acquisition of Ruck Pate Architecture.
