Rush “Buddy” Harding IV had his eyes set on following in the footsteps of his grandfather and becoming a high school coach.
During his last semester before graduating with a health sciences degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2008, Harding was talked into working part time at Crews & Associates.
“Ever since I can remember, every summer I’d be in the office with my dad,” said Harding, referring to his father, Little Rock financier Rush Harding. “I always kind of loved numbers and math. After six months of working at Crews, I fell in love with the business.”
After more than a decade, he left the Little Rock investment banking firm this year to join Carty & Co. Inc. of Memphis as senior vice president and local market director.
Among the charitable ventures Harding supports are the UAMS Win-throp P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and Children’s Tumor Foundation. He is a volunteer basketball coach and past volunteer coach for soccer and baseball.
A sampling of past civic work includes serving on the boards of directors of the Centers for Youth & Families and Junior Deputy Baseball.
