Steve Cox
The Arkansas Bank
The professional career of Steve Cox was first established on the gridiron of the National Football League. He enjoyed punting and kicking chores with the Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins from 1981-88.

During the off seasons, Cox worked in Jonesboro as a teller on up to loan officer to prepare for his second career in banking. He is chairman of three northeast Arkansas banks controlled by his wife's family.

The Charleston native earned a banking and finance degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he was an All-American his senior year. Cox was selected to the Razorbacks' All-Century Team and at one time held title to five of the seven longest field goals in NFL history.

The 37-year-old businessman owns farming interests scattered around east Arkansas from Craighead County to Chicot County and points in between.

Cox serves on the Soil Conservation Board and the board of Jonesboro Unlimited, an industrial recruitment group. He and his wife; Virginia, have two sons, ages 9 and 3.
