Top challenge facing Arkansas
“Retention of talent and changemakers. The lack of economic opportunity in smaller towns means those most likely to generate positive change leave for bigger cities or other states. If we really want Arkansas to be the best state in the nation, we have to focus on providing incentives for top talent to stay in our rural and low-income communities.”
Most fulfilling career moment
“Anytime I get to help people. One specific instance that sticks out was when I worked at Legal Aid and helped a family avoid eviction by negotiating a payment plan with their landlord. I remember thinking, ‘This is why I became a lawyer.’”
