“When I realized that the storytelling project about Black Southerners that I dreamt up in 2017 could evolve into a viable business model that combined my expertise in strategic communication with my values of connection, curiosity and social change. In November 2021, I found myself at a crossroads. My employer, the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, supported me going part time so I could have more flexibility to secure contracts while maintaining a steady paycheck.”
