"It's always intrigued me," Harrington said.
His chance to become a banker came in 1995, when he was working in shipping and receiving at his first job out of school. Harrington learned of a loan officer opening at First National Bank of Magnolia and landed the job.
When the bank sold five years later, he joined Farmers Bank & Trust of Magnolia. Since that September 2000 move, Harrington has advanced to become senior vice president and retail loan department manager.
Harrington graduated from Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in finance with a minor in accounting.
"Work has gotten harder, and I don't spend us much time playing golf," he said.
His community and civic labors include coaching for the Boys & Girls Club and Upward Basketball program, Leadership Magnolia alumni, SAU Alumni Board, past President of the Lions Club, president of Columbia County Independent Living Inc., past member of the Magnolia Jaycees and volunteering at the Relay for Life and Magnolia Blossom Festival.
