Walker now leads his own firm, Walker Law Firm PLLC, which specializes in natural gas issues for landowners and small businesses. He founded the firm in August 2005.
"I've worked for the bigger firms. They're just not suited for me," Walker said.
Walker, 34, was appointed to the board of directors of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce in January and to the board of National Bank of Arkansas in May. He also has served on the board of Argenta Community Development Corp. for more than two years.
In addition, Walker has been the chair of the Pulaski County Election Commission. During the last two elections, Walker said, early voting percentages in Pulaski County increased 40 percent.
Walker, a graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law, served on the law school committee of the Arkansas Bar Association and its committee for a modern judiciary.
Walker said his greatest accomplishment had been growing and maintaining a thriving law firm in which most new clients are referred by previous clients.
