Chris Bates, a true IT junkie, worked his way up the keyboard, from part-timer to vice president, at the Computer Hut.
Before joining the Computer Hut full time in 2002, Bates worked as IT manager for Little Rock law firm Williams & Anderson PLC after his graduation from the University of Central Arkansas at Conway. After hours and on weekends, he’d join his wife at the Computer Hut.
When he’s not busy meeting his customers’ needs there, Bates is busy facilitating a couple of industry groups, the International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners and an HTG peer group (highly select groups of Microsoft-certified IT professionals who learn, share and complete activities designed to improve their business).
Selection to a peer group, and especially designation as a facilitator, is a significant achievement in the industry. Bates' group consists of 12 members from across the United States.
Bates adheres to the following key principles:
• Underpromise and overdeliver;
• Never forget that having a customer's business is a privilege;
• Constantly strive to provide the highest quality service; and
• Treat everyone as he and the staff would want to be treated.
