BOND.AI uses artificial intelligence to help consumers enhance their financial health without moving from their home bank.

Founded in 2016, BOND.AI launched the EmpathyEngine in 2018. This technology works to understand consumer behavior to boost banks’ revenue while increasing consumer income and financial well-being. The algorithms analyze financial, nonfinancial and intangible data to increase engagement between consumers and their financial institutions, generating hyper-personalized profiles for each client.

“It’s not the typical financial advice,” CEO Uday Akkaraju said. “We will basically make sure that your finances are good forever.”

The company strives to focus on its consumers’ behaviors.

“It’s about habits; your habits and behaviors define your future and having certain good habits, consistent habits and behaviors is not easy,” Akkaraju said. “We have a chatbot which gives you insights every single day and [tips] to change those small habits, small behaviors.”

As the AI analyzes more data, it becomes more aware of what each consumer needs, creating personalized assistance for each individual.

The company has experienced quick growth, launching a partnership with Fidelity National Information Services of Jacksonville, Florida, in 2019 and expanding its product line through partnerships with TAB Bank of Ogden, Utah, and First Citizens Bank of Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2020.

The company received a Best of Show award in 2018 at the FinovateFall Awards. Last year, it was back at the Finovate Awards as a finalist in the Best Embedded Finance Solution category.

In 2022, BOND.AI launched The BOND Network, allowing for an interconnected financial experience.

Initially, the company marketed toward financial institutions, which created a barrier between its technology and consumers as consumers needed to be the banks’ clients. Now, BOND.AI also partners with other businesses, such as Baptist Health and the state of Arkansas, allowing individuals to sign up directly through their employers.

“Today’s needs are different. Your needs are different, and that’s what our technology adapts to — to make your life the best life possible,” Akkaraju said. “We have a human-centered design principle behind our company. We go after the needs of the consumer every time.”
