First things first: Beth Ann Hargis enjoys coffee.
“I’ve loved it all my life, and after joining Westrock, I got a chance to become a Q grader, which is basically a quality tester for coffee,” she said.
A native of Marble Falls, Texas, Hargis headed to Little Rock and Westrock Coffee immediately after earning her communications degree from Baylor University. The “Texas girl for sure” adopted Little Rock and has been at the company ever since.
“I have a lot of friends who have moved around in their careers, but there’s something special about working for Westrock,” said Hargis, who considers helping the company grow through marketing as one of her top work achievements.
Hargis works to promote the company’s overall brand as it sustainably purchases coffee and tea from farmers around the world and produces high-quality private label beverages.
“My own ethos mirrors what the company stands for,” said Hargis, who volunteers with Young Lives, a nonprofit sector of Young Life that supports pregnant and parenting teenagers.
Her goal is to stay at Westrock and follow her first boss’s advice: “Respect the people around you and put your best foot forward as a woman in your career.”
