Rick Sisk has a cool workplace, and not just because it was once a whiskey mill.
“It sounds cliche, but it’s a fun environment,” said Sisk, who oversees procurement for the 700-employee dental management company from 500 Shall Ave. in Little Rock. That’s the former Rock Town Distillery, its last iteration before Cromwell Architects remade it into a showplace headquarters.
“It has a unique layout that encourages collaboration,” said Sisk, who grew up in Cabot, the son of an Air Force man and a dental assistant who pushed him to strive for success. He graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 2016, and since has worked for Dillard’s, Maverick Transportation, Revolution and now Rock Dental.
His greatest achievement, he said, was gaining all that experience while managing to stay in central Arkansas. “I’ve been able to learn in all these sectors, retail, transportation. … It has always been something new.” He hasn’t nailed down his ultimate career ambition.
Outside work, Sisk, his wife and two children devote time to New Life Church, the Out of Darkness suicide prevention campaign and NAMI Arkansas, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
