Paralegal - Retail Operations Support #5300

Description:

This position will be located at our Ozark, AR Operations Center.

Reviews legal documentation related to complex account opening.

Essential Job Functions:
Reviews documents related to business entities, trusts, estates, powers of attorney, IRAs, governmental entities, escrow accounts, and other complex accounts.
Works closely with Bank of the Ozarks’ Office of General Counsel as needed to recommend or determine whether a particular account should be opened.
Obtains documentation from and works closely with retail employees related to complex accounts.
Organizes and maintains documents related to complex accounts and completes internal forms related to such accounts.
Drafts and edits documents related to complex accounts, as necessary.
Maintains accurate follow-up system to obtain additional information necessary to properly evaluate the request to open a complex account.
Maintains good punctuality and attendance at work.
Performs various administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the law in multiple jurisdictions related to some or all of the following: business entities, disregarded business entities, government entities, trusts, estates, powers of attorney, IRAs, and escrow agreements.
Knowledge of related legal practices, procedures and terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with others in a professional, collaborative manner.
Ability to skillfully gather, organize and analyze information.
Ability to comprehend, interpret and follow complex instructions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to demonstrate sound and accurate judgment.
Ability to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities efficiently and effectively.

Ability to follow through on assignments within assigned time frames.

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree and/or commensurate experience preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a paralegal or minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a legal assistant or related legal work experience required.
Paralegal certification preferred.
