APPLE UB Sudent Support / Outreach Coordinator


The Lyon College APPLE Project, a federally funded Upward Bound Program serving area high school students since 1967, seeks a Student Support/Outreach Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing and implementing the student support component which includes overseeing mentoring activities, administering assessments, interviewing and advising students, providing outreach for students and their families, and supervising the summer residential program. Additional responsibilities include organizing enrichment activities, scheduling guest speakers, supervising part-time staff, and maintaining program records. This is a full-time, 11-month position with regular evening and some weekend work required and is dependent on continued grant funding. Qualified candidates will have at least a BA/BS in education, social work or related field, although a Masters is preferred; excellent communication, data analysis, and time management skills; supervisory skills for overseeing support and outreach programming; ability to operate college owned vehicles. In addition, experience with providing services to students within the age group and ability to speak a foreign language (Spanish preferred) at a basic level are desired.
