Position: Assistant Professor, Human Sciences (Merchandising & Design) Full-time, 12-month, tenure track position (70% Teaching 30% Research) Position Available: July 1, 2019
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Apparel Design, Fashion Merchandising, Textiles, or related area; evidence of research and/or scholarly/creative work; experience with university instruction and student advisement; experience in student engagement activities in and out of class; and experience with student recruitment activities
Responsibilities: Teach courses in the department; recruit and advise students; conduct research; develop collaborative relationships with business and industry; participate in scholarly/creative activities; seek external funding; and perform university and community service
The University: The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is an 1890 Land-Grant institution with approximately 2,600 students. The University offers undergraduate degrees in more than 40 majors in the schools of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences; Business and Management; Education; and Arts and Sciences. The Department: The Department of Human Sciences is in the School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Sciences Education and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Sciences with options in Foodservice/Restaurant Management; Human Development and Family Studies; Merchandising, Textiles and Design; and Nutrition and Food Science. Programs are accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
