Director of Communications

The Arkansas Bankers Association (ABA) is seeking a full-time Director of Communications. The Director of Communications is responsible for managing ABA's communications activities including print and electronic ABA quarterly magazine and other publications, news media/public relations, preparing brochures and promotional material for all association programs, conferences, and meetings, and ABA's social media accounts.

A successful candidate for this role is proactive and goal-oriented, a strategic thinker, and able to work independently and collaboratively. This role is ideal for someone who can work with all levels of communications media, thrives on managing multiple projects simultaneously, and has a thirst for continuous learning as the industry grows and changes.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree in communications-related field or commensurate experience. 3+ years of related experience; non-profit a plus. Strong writing/editing and outstanding verbal communication skills. Ability to create and maintain industry and member relationships. Minimum of 2 years of experience and broad knowledge of the magazine production process including graphic building and sensibility, organizational skills, desktop publishing experience, promotional skills, ability to meet deadlines and operate within budgets. Must be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience in website content development, including social media, with a keen awareness of appropriate communication for each social media platform. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office product suite. Must have knowledge of visual design concepts. Ability for occasional travel.
