Title: Extension Specialist II - Project/Program Manager - Communications
Location: School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences
Appointment: Twelve Month
Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, journalism or a closely related field. Must be proficient using appropriate computer hardware and software to perform all job tasks as outlined in the responsibilities. A valid drivers license and liability insurance is required.
Responsibilities: The project/program manager will:
Formulate and assign articles
Write articles for print media as well as write radio spots and video scripts
Edit manuscripts, publications and web content
Take digital photographs
Shoot video and edit using Final Cut Pro
Coordinate audio/visual equipment set-ups and equipment check outs for SAFHS faculty and staff
The successful candidate will be experienced in the field of communications in the agricultural sciences. S/he must be able to multi-task and work on several jobs at a time, often under tight deadlines, with minimal supervision, and be able to problem solve as necessary toward successful job completion. The successful candidate must have a reliable vehicle. Some evening and weekend work and/or overnight travel may be required.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
