Administrative Specialist III – Agriculture/Plant Science


The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is conducting a search to fill the position of an Administrative Specialist III in the Department of Agriculture within the School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences. The Administrative Specialist provides clerical support to the department; assists faculty, staff, students, and visitors; oversees the day to day activities of the office; prepares requisitions; maintains files; types and edits various documents; records and transcribes minutes of various meetings; maintains time records of student workers; independently prepares non-routine letters and/or reports which may be highly sensitive and confidential in nature; assists in the student registration process, and performs other related duties as required or assigned. This person ensures that office operations are in compliance with policy provisions and standards.

Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree and one year of work related experience; or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Must possess organizing and coordinating skills; ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues; ability to plan and develop procedures; ability to organize resource and establish priorities; must be skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

Salary: Grade: C112 - ADHE Classification System
