Procurement Specialist

Position Overview: The United States District Court, Eastern District of Arkansas, has a full-time position for procurement specialist who will provide support to the Clerk’s office in performing work related to preparing complicated specifications, negotiating service contracts, preparing significant and large purchase orders, serving as a liaison between contractors and the contracting office, writing operating procedures, and overseeing day-to-day building management issues and space and facilities projects all in accordance with appropriations law and the Guide to Judiciary Policy.

Qualifications: To qualify for CL-27, candidate must have two years specialized experience, including at least one year equivalent to work at the CL-25 or a bachelor’s degree in business, or closely related field, and an overall “B” grade point average equaling 2.90 or better of a possible 4.0. Specialized experience is progressively responsible experience in at least one but preferably two or more of the functional areas of procurement management or administration (tracking expenditures, managing contracts, writing and evaluating bids, researching products and suppliers, writing operating procedures, etc.) that provide a knowledge of rules, regulations and terminology of procurement
administration.
