Customer Service Specialist


The purpose of this role is to provide an amazing welcome and unparalleled service to every inbound telephone call and to anyone who walks into our building. This person does this by answering incoming phone calls, welcoming visitors entering building, serving subscribers when they inquire by telephone or email, etc.

Some of the activities include:

• Answers all incoming phone calls to the main line
• Transfer incoming calls to the correct person or department
• Serves and solves problems for readers with their subscription or
login issues accessing and maintaining accurate, detailed records in our
subscription management software.
• Responsible for end-of-day close procedures
• Completes press run orders
• Opens checks and prepares them for accounting
• Stuffs invoices and statements
• Assists with tearsheets
• Credit card processing and batch reconciliation for circulation and
• Books meeting rooms in online system
• Enters reader response cards for various publications on a daily basis
• Controls outgoing FedEx mailings and billings
• Updates employee phone list
• Handles single copy sales for walk in clients
• Manages parking reservation requests
• Prepares visitor parking signs
• All other duties as assigned
