JOB TITLE: Manager of Internal Communications

SUPERVISED BY: Vice President, Marketing and Communications


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Journalism or Communications, English, Public Relations, or related field

EXPERIENCE: Four years of experience in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Must be proficient in Mac OS X and Microsoft Office and adaptive to new and changing technologies. Must have solid understanding of analytical software and techniques.


MAJOR JOB TASKS:

Produces, edits, and distributes all aspects of company-wide internal communications initiatives, including executive communications.
Works closely with CEO and Executive Team to create internal communications that reflects the cooperative's strategic priorities and identifies best approaches and channels to engage and inform internal audiences.
Conceptualizes, researches, and provides writing support to CEO and Executive Team for executive communications, including speeches, talking points, power point presentations, and publication messages.
Responsible for the regular cadence of communications to employees to enhance the culture, engage employee base, inspire passion for the cooperative mission and brand, and inform and strengthen the cooperative community across departments.
Collaborates with Vice President of Marketing and Communications to develop cohesive and well-aligned communications strategy that supports marketing and external communications initiatives and identifies opportunities for internal communications platforms to share and promote these initiatives.
Summarizes, edits, and distributes monthly board reports.
Prepares content, directs, and executes various employee meetings, including new employee orientations.

Must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must possess excellent presentation, proofreading and editing skills.
This position is performed both inside and outside the office, with some irregular working hours
Some travel is required inside and outside the Cooperative service area.
Overnight travel may be required from time to time.
Must have valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work on computer long periods of time.
Must be able to perform all activities listed in the job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
Rarely lifts to 30 pounds
Must be able to hear and talk to communicate with others.
