Business Assistant

The Business Assistant is a part-time, integral member of TheatreSquared’s administrative staff, charged with assisting in T2's accounting, bookkeeping and finance. This position will support the business office with finance related data entry and basic accounting functions. Ideal candidates will have proactive communication skills, experience with managing both paper and virtual organization systems, and self-motivation. Additionally, this opportunity offers room for professional growth as the company begins its new phase in a state-of-the-art, 50,000-square-foot, two-venue home. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

As a business professional—and as a positive, collaborative member of an inclusive workforce—this new staff member will help TheatreSquared answer the question, “How can a theatre be an agent of social change—helping foster a community that is fundamentally more equitable?”

The Business Assistant should expect weekly hours to range between 15-25 and scheduled during normal business hours. This role may be scheduled for external/special events as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Credit card data entry
Sales and contributions data entry
Allocating income via journal entries
Managing payables and receivables
Creating payments and invoices
Collecting receipts and supporting documents


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Attention to detail
Ability to process data quickly and accurately
Professional communication skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications


DESIRABLE SKILL SETS

Experience with QuickBooks Desktop or other accounting software
Accounting work experience
Training/Classes/Certification in accounting

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. The base pay for this part-time, non-exempt position is $16-18 per hour. Benefits include flexible scheduling, holiday pay, paid time off, allotted show tickets, access to the company employee assistance program, and the opportunity to regularly experience live theatre.
