JOB TITLE: Marketing and Communications Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications

REPORTS TO: Manager of Marketing & Communications


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: College degree or equivalent job-related experience in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising or Marketing.

EXPERIENCE: Three-to-five year's previous industry experience preferred. Cooperative experience is beneficial.


MAJOR JOB TASKS:

Administratively manages purchase and distribution of all cooperative and subsidiary branded apparel, merchandise, and promotional materials
Administrates all marketing print production and timelines by facilitating and coordinating all marketing requests from inception to completion and distribution
Assists marketing department and member services in updating websites for cooperative and subsidiary
Assists in educational and community outreach
Administratively assists coordination of sponsorships and donations
Maintains high level of professional member service while interacting with members and the general public
Maintains and updates frequently media and advertising contacts
Assists in preparing member and employee communications
Assists in execution of media plan as part of communications plan
Administratively assists ad solicitation between advertising agencies, vendors, and graphic designers
Oversees all promotional items and budget, including purchasing, inventory management and ordering processes
Monitors and reports on effectiveness of ongoing marketing and communications activities
Assists in event planning and organization

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Community leaders, service organizations, Arkansas and Oklahoma statewide associations, national Cooperative Communicators Association, educational, school and business leaders.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Operates office equipment and computers. Must have valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability.
Requires public speaking skills with strong oral and written communications. Must have knowledge of various desktop publishing software, including Microsoft Office.
This position is performed both inside and outside the office, with some irregular working hours. Some travel is required inside and outside the Cooperative service area.
