JOB TITLE: Community Outreach and Public Relations Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications

DATE: October 19, 2022

REPORTS TO: Manager of Marketing & Communications


EDUCATION: College degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Three-to-five year's previous industry experience preferred. Cooperative experience is beneficial.


Represents the Cooperative during community projects and at public, social and business gatherings, including schools and corporate events.
Works closely with schools across service territory to manage the Cooperative's youth programs, such as scholarships, Energy Camp, Electric Vehicle Program, Youth Tour, and electric safety demonstrations.
Assist in planning and implementing public relations programs, trade shows and community outreach. Coordinate and provide public relations type social media content.
Build and foster long-term relationships with community leaders and peers, school administration and counselors/teachers.
Maintains high level of professional member service while interacting with members and the general public
Assists in preparing member and employee communications
Helps with coordination of Cooperative's-sponsored donations

The Community Outreach and Public Relations Coordinator shall be required to perform any other duties assigned to fulfill the objectives of the Marketing and Communications department and the Cooperative.


Community leaders, service organizations, Arkansas and Oklahoma statewide associations, educational, school and business leaders.


Operates office equipment and computers. Must have valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability.
Requires public speaking skills with strong oral and written communications. Must have knowledge of various desktop publishing software, including Microsoft Office.
This position is performed both inside and outside the office, with some irregular working hours. Some travel is required inside and outside the Cooperative service area. Overnight travel may be required from time to time.
