This is a Safety-Sensitive Job for Purposes of the AR Medical Marijuana Amendment.
This position is not considered Essential Personnel under the LRCVB Inclement Weather policy.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To write, create, and manage content for all assigned projects for Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) to ensure messaging is in compliance with LRCVB branding, marketing and communications strategies and guidelines.
Essential Functions
Serves as primary copywriter for LRCVB internal and external communications to include collateral, website, email correspondence, press releases, blogs, video scripts, presentations, advertising copy and other related communications.
Writes, reviews, proofreads and edits materials to maintain clear and concise written communication within LRCVB and its related entities and community partners to ensure that all assigned projects are in compliance with LRCVB branding, marketing and communications strategies and guidelines.
Collaborates with LRCVB departments to create content for monthly local advocacy newsletters and other LRCVB communications.
Coordinates with the Creative Services Manager to develop concepts for and execute video and photo content.
Provides assistance to the Director of Communications in planning and implementing of media missions, media events and media/influencer visits.
Maintains the LRCVB content calendar and content library; works in coordination with other LRCVB staff to create and develop content strategy.
Reviews and proofreads materials to include publications and brochures developed by the Sales and Marketing Department and other Divisions as assigned; forwards to appropriate personnel.
Attends and participates in various Departmental meetings to contribute content ideas and assets to the overall social media efforts.
Provides support to the Sales & Marketing Departments by developing and drafting pre/post-convention or meeting emails, blogs, newsletters, bid/proposal letters, welcome letters, and related information.
Establishes and maintains hard copy and electronic files and record-keeping systems of Sales & Marketing related materials.
Interacts in a positive and responsive manner with clients, attendees of events, seminar speakers, and the general public.
Operates a Bureau-issued computer, internet, e-mail and various other software packages in the performance of essential functions.
Operates an automatic transmission automobile in the performance of essential job functions.
Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities
These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related area; two (2) years of experience in advertising, communications, online marketing to include demonstrated experience in the development of content to promote branding, marketing and communications strategies or related areas. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must show proof of valid automobile insurance before being approved to drive any LRCVB vehicle.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
This position may require one or more of the following pre-employment screenings: drug and alcohol screening, or background investigation.
