Position Summary

The Copywriter & Social Media Coordinator will support Ozarks Electric Cooperative's marketing and communications programs, primarily through copy development and social media management.


Reports to: Manager of Marketing & Communication


Copy development for the purposes of communications and marketing, including but not limited to: letter and email correspondence, feature articles, website pages, collateral, advertising and video.
Develop comprehensive social media management strategy that correlates with appropriate cooperative functions
Produce engaging content for all social media channels through aforementioned strategy
Manage all aspects of website through content management system, including page updates, new initiatives and more
Help develop and coordinate public relations initiatives, including press release creation and distribution as well as other duties as neededAssist with internal communications initiatives, including developing content, posting to intranet platform, sending emails and more
Assist with internal communications initiatives, including developing content, posting to intranet platform, sending emails and more
Online media monitoring and tracking, developing media results reports
Track industry trends and report insights to research team

Job Knowledge, Training and Education: College degree in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations, with at least three-to-five years of experience preferred. Experience in HTML, video production/editing and graphic design a plus.

Equipment Operated: Must be proficient in Mac OS X and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of HTML and video editing software a plus. Experience in all major social media platforms is required. Must have a current Arkansas driver's license

Abilities and Skills: Must possess a strong work ethic with desire to take on new tasks and responsibilities. Interest in new and emerging technology is vital. Must also be a self-starter, willing to take lead on new projects without direction or supervision. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
