To provide safety and security of persons and property at facilities operated by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs security patrols of the interior and exterior of facilities to guard against unlawful entry, theft or damage in compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures. Monitors multiple security cameras to observe surroundings for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards; investigates unusual situations; notifies supervisor of findings. Provides crowd control at facility events; evacuates patrons from facility in emergency situations. Responds to alarm notifications and ensures compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures. Maintains radio and telephone communication with other safety officers patrolling the facilities and grounds to ensure adequate security coverage; responds to requests for services or assistance to other Safety Security Officers. Notifies other Safety Security Officers of problems and special event requirements, suspicious activities or unusual situations in or around facilities; prepares a daily shift activity report for supervisor. Checks windows and door locks to ensure LRCVB facilities and offices are secure. Notifies Little Rock Police Department of unauthorized persons or persons violating laws and monitors suspicious behavior until a Police Officer arrives at the facility. Permits authorized personnel to enter property and monitors entrances and exits of facilities; observes departing personnel to protect against theft of LRCVB property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within applicable guidelines. Provides assistance to the Safety Security Supervisor in training, directing the work activities and monitoring the performance of part-time Safety Security Officers; provides assistance to the Safety Security Supervisor to determine and distribute employee work schedules for part-time Safety Security Officers. Signs delivery receipt for incoming and outgoing freight to acknowledge receipt of materials delivered to LRCVB facilities. Completes facility activity logs, incident and accident reports, and other related forms. Answers questions and provides information to the general public regarding directions, facility information or related information; advises the general public of policy violations such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles. Administers basic first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), to injured individuals; telephones emergency personnel for individuals requiring medical attention; completes appropriate paperwork. Interacts in a positive and responsive manner with clients, attendees of events, seminar speakers, and the general public. Operates a computer, utilizing spreadsheet and word processing software in the performance of essential job functions. Operates an automobile in the performance of essential job functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of high school and one (1) year of experience in security or related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be available to work evenings, holidays and weekends as required.
