Position Information/Description: To enforce the City of Little Rock parking ordinance for timed and metered parking areas by patrolling an assigned area on foot or in a Parking Enforcement Scooter; inspects for violations and issues parking citations to violators and immobilizes vehicles as required.
Minimum Qualifications and Additional Requirements: These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school and one (1) year of customer service experience with public contact, such as food service worker, retail or related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Essential Job Functions:
Patrols assigned areas on foot or in a Parking Enforcement Scooter to inspect for vehicular compliance with the City of Little Rock parking ordinance.
Issues parking tickets for vehicles in violation of parking regulations utilizing an electronic ticket writer; takes photographs with electronic ticket writer for all non-meter/time zone violations; prints out ticket and places on vehicle; immobilizes vehicles as assigned.
Answers questions and provides information regarding parking regulations; refers complainants to Parking Enforcement Coordinator.
Testifies in court concerning parking violation citations issued.
Provides assistance to citizens by providing directions and other information regarding the downtown area of the City of Little Rock.
Operates an electronic ticket writer in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Operates a City pool automobile in the performance of essential job functions.
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
Must possess Citation Authority Certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
