If a man and woman are hoping to team up in the annual September mixed golf event at Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville, they’ll have to have an invitation. That’s how big this event has become in six years.

For the fourth consecutive year Executive Golfer readers have selected the 7,011-yard course in Melbourne as their favorite public or semi-private course in Arkansas. Cooper’s Hawk was the clear winner, with 4,643 votes, while runner-up Big Creek, located in Mountain Home, claimed 977 votes to move up from its No. 7 finish last year.

With more than 30 years as a golf professional and course operator, Tim Jenkins has seen the game from a different perspective than many who caught on to golf during its Tiger Woods-era surge and subsequent decline.
